One of Britain's finest comic actresses, Smethwick born Julie Walters is perhaps best known for her comic collaborations with Victoria Wood. Her screen debut was as the working-class student who wanted to better herself in the 1983 film "Educating Rita". She moved on to appear on television and in many films including starring in Hollywood productions.
