Selection of pumps from the Lee Howl, 1931, catalogue. In 1880 Edmund and Oliver Howl, together with Mr Lee and Mr Ward, formed a company to manufacturer, amongst other things, pumps. Such was the success of their venture that within a decade the name, Lee Howl & Co., had become a force to be recokoned with as general engineers and pump manufacturers. This Tipton company soon a world wide reputation for its pumps, ranging from manual back yard pumps to high powered reciprocating and centrifugal installations.
