Established at Highfields, Bradley, in 1806 by Thomas Perry of Bilston, the foundry produced a wide range of products for industry and residential purposes. Typical products included rolling mills, forging hammers, lathes for turning rolls, bridge castings and steam engines.
For resedential purposes products included elaborate cast and iron railings, gates and coats of arms. Two foundries were in use making large and small cast iron rolls. In 1925, the foundry concentrated soley on the manufacture of rolls for the shaping of metals. A new foundry was built to provide the standard required of rolls used in modern high speed mills.
Messers Thomas Perry became part of the British Rollmaking Corporation in 1942. The Highfield works was further modernised between 1964 and 1966.
