Invoice to work carried out by Harry Mould, plumber, Park Street, Old Hill. While it is interesting to note that the work was done for Mr Doo's Chemist Shop (now rebuilt at the museum), it is more fascinating to find out the wages for a man working was a plumber in 1909. Look carefully and you can see that the going rate was 9 pence an hour - by working an 8 1/2 hr day, he earned 6 shillings - that?s equivalent to about 32 pence.
