Established in West Bromwich in 1884, Braithwaites entered the Indian market in 1891with a railway footbridge and rapidly developed the business, building some of the most impressive railway structures in the sub continent. Associated company Brathwaite and Co. Engineers were leaders in storage tank production. Their tanks can still be seen throughout the world, although the company closed in 1979.
