1913 SUNBEAM SOLO MOTOR CYCLE

MAIN CHARACTERISTICS:Single cylinder side valve engine, four stroke, Druid patent forks, Sunbeam two-speed gearbox, hand change, stirrup front brake/drum rear, chain driven, AMAC carburettor, enclosed chain case, hand oil pump. HISTORY:The earliest known surviving Sunbeam motor cycle ? now restored by the present Marston Company. The brainchild of Sunbeam?s Chief Designer, John ?Cherry? Greenwood and subsequently owned for many years by another John Greenwood (no relation) who was a Shropshire architect and a founder member of VMCC. The engine was designed for Sunbeam by Harry Stevens (of the AJS brothers) in a consultant capacity. An important and historic machine. Retailed 60 guineas
